Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. I can identify with that Christmas tree shown above because although I'm worn out and a bit scraggly, I'm still vertical. I spent a good number of holidays working in the hospital and like my colleagues above always found something to be joyful about even in the most dire of circumstances. There is always a silver lining, especially at Christmas.

Before my brain freeze set in, I came up with this a few years back. My readership was no where near what it is now, so if you need a chuckle, here's the link:    https://oldfoolrn.blogspot.com/search?q=twas+the+night

  1. Merry (belated) Solstice, O.F.!! I always volunteered to work both the 24th and 25th ~ I don't celebrate those days, so why not give someone who does the days off?!?!
    Happy days to you ~

  2. That Christmas tree does look a bit like it's seen better days... cute photo though. Yes Merry Christmas OFRN and everyone else. We are ravaged by bushfires all over the country, one near me has had us blanketed with smoke and ash for days... the Canadian firefighters just came over to help and I think we're getting some Americans too... so it's a smoky scary time over here in Australia, but best wishes to all! 3. A good bit of snow here to quench any risk of fire. Hopefully, they get things under control before too much damage is done.

    1. Massage damage OFRN last count 500 million hectares of land burnt and hundreds of homes lost and several fire fighters injured and two dead. It's over most states of Australia. I know it's on the news in the UK and Europe.
So best wishes from Australia which currently is in a terrible situation... Sue

  4. I'm hoping the situation quickly resolves. I saw an image of a firefighter sharing a water bottle with a little koala. Touching indeed.

  5. Thanks OFRN. We were just saved here by the rural fire service clearing containment lines but fires still rage across most states of Australia. Worst I've ever seen in my life. Many places I know and love are gone. 30% of koala population wiped out. Canadians and Americans sending out more assistance. Yes fire fighters rescued any wildlife they were able to - kangaroos can often manage to get away but koalas etc can't possibly escape. Let's hope for a better New Year...
    Best wishes for 2020, Sue

Don't know if the link works OFRN - thirsty koala runs onto the road in Adelaide and stops a group of cyclists to drink from their water bottles during the incredible heatwave we are going through. Its also been shown on CNN. Sue. (This is on YouTube)
